Sensei Jeff Burlingame
Sensei Jeff Burlingame started his training in the Martial Arts in 1967 at the age of 13 here in Medina. Keeping with his life long study of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate, Sensei Burlingame has been teaching this form of Karate in the Medina area since 1969. Having been one of the founding members of the International Seibukan Karate-Do Association that was formed in 1978 and headed up by Sensei Edward Takae (Tampa, FL), he has been fortunate enough to be a student directly under Sensei Takae since 1984. Prior to his retirement from Seibukan in 2008, Sensei Burlingame had progressed to become the most senior ranked student of Sensei Takae.

Sensei Burlingame is the owner and chief instructor for Asian Martial Arts. He is currently teaching the Level I, Level II, and Level III classes as well as overseeing all operations.

Having recently retired from the Medina County Sheriff’s Office (Detective Sergeant) after 22 years of service, Sensei Burlingame is now concentrating his efforts in continuing the teachings of this traditional form of Okinawan Karate.
